Pictures from the Spring Show: Firework! Katy Perry

For the IASC's Spring show, we sang "Firework" by Katy Perry. We danced with scarves. Here are some beautiful photographs taken during that song!

A Month to Go!

By Karen Peacock

The spring season is going by quickly! There are only four more weeks until our next show, and we are working hard on having more songs together as a group than the Christmas show. The choreography has also kicked up a few steps (no pun intended), and we have been having fun learning all that Heather has planned out for us. A lot of the fun of rehearsals has been working through our new dance steps and making it around the stage without running into each other too much.

We have a couple of new faces, Shannon and Spencer, but unfortunately some of the members from last season won’t be joining us for this concert. Hopefully we will see some people back again in September. If you are thinking about joining us, or know someone who is, please come to the spring concert and see what we are about.

Speaking of September, the song with the same name is one of our new pieces that is just about ready. I won’t mention other titles, because we want to surprise you for the concert, but know that there is going to be a wide variety of new hits, pop legends, and show tunes. It should be a very fun and entertaining evening, so make plans now to attend! May 12th at 7:30pm at Crooked Creek Baptist Church.

Our Christmas Show

Written By Keyna Shubert

Our 2010 IASC Holiday Show was a success! We held the event at Crooked Creek Baptist Church . All the members pitched in by pulling together props to decorate the hall to make it look more festive. We had cookies and beverages prepared to share with the guests who attended. We had a candle fundraiser and collected donations to contribute to our music for next season.

We had around sixty guest show up to cheer us on for our debut performance. It ended up being a rather amazing evening. IASC started the night off by being among the crowd to wish them a Merry Christmas. We continued with the "Grinch" melody to pump up the audience. Karen Peacock graced us with her rendition of "Breath of Heaven." IASC followed up her performance by an audience sing along of our favorite hymns.

Howard Hill & Keyna Shubert performed the light romantic duet "Baby Its Cold Outside." Then Alycia Reed sang her rendition of "O Holy Night." IASC followed the solos with the enchanting ballad "Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth." Keyna Shubert picked up the beat by singing "Winter Wonderland" among staged IASC members. Then we ended the show with Christmas Classic melody of "Charlie Brown."

As a group we are very pleased with our debut performance. We are a group of people who have a passion for music. We always want to give our best performance, but are here to have fun. Hopefully we ignited the passion of a few audience members who will join us when the new season starts in January.
